Profs. Bernhard Pfahringer and Geoffrey Holmes visit LARCA
Professors Bernhard Pfahringer and Geoffrey Holmes, from University of Waikato (New Zealand), will be visiting the LARCA group during September 2011. Their visit is partially supported by the PIV ("Invited Researchers") programme of Generalitat de Catalunya.
Geoff and Bernhard are world-known experts in machine learning, and belong to the team that created the most popular WEKA package. Their main current interest is on the design, evaluation, and application of learning and mining techniques to the data stream setting, and to this end are the promotors of the MOA (Massive Online Analysis) open-source package. Collaboration with LARCA researchers will most likely focus on data stream learning and mining too.
Feel free to approach them: room 321 of the Omega building.
