A successful ECML PKDD 2010
The LARCA group, together with Yahoo! Research Lab Barcelona, organized the ECML PKDD 2010 conference, the most prestigious conference organized in Europe related to Machine Learning and Data Mining. The conference took place September 20-24th. Some conference highlights are:
Feedback from participants indicates that it was among the most successful editions of ECML PKDD ever, both scientifically and socially.
- 460 registered participants
- 6 invited talks by top experts.
- 120+ technical papers in 24 sessions, selected from over 900 submissions
- 9 associated workshops, 8 associated tutorials on leading edge topics
- A challenge workshop
- An industrial session
- Demo presentations for innovative software
- The venue for most activities was the Casa de Convalescència of Hospital de Sant Pau, a UNESCO World heritage site
- The conference dinner was held at the Palau de la Música Catalana, another UNESCO World heritage site
- Two poster sessions were held at the 17th century Institut d'Estudis Catalans and 19th century Universitat de Barcelona historical building
- The invited talks and 7 of the tutorials are available as videolectures
